introducing in house records: design thinking in prison
12th February 2019
InHouse Records is a multi award winning, rehabilitative, though the gate service, operating in multiple UK prisons.
InHouse increases positive behaviour in prison and is significantly reducing re-offending on the outside too. We take the tasks associated with running a functional record label and turn them into a soft curriculum. Our initiative is approximately 300% oversubscribed in every jail, with more than 80% of those engaging with InHouse, never having worked before. Indeed, for many of our participants, InHouse is the first time the are leaving their wing.
InHouse engages with the hardest to reach men in prison, and that engagement continues on the outside, with 88% of those who works with us on the inside continuing to do so after they are released.
